I'm using DVD2DVD with the QuEnc encoder to reduce HDTV streams to DVD resolution and it works great except that QuEnc begins to have issues whenever i install DVDShrink which i'm using to fit multiple episodes onto a single DVD.
The first time i encountered a problem it was that DVD2DVD couldn't launch QuEnc (BETA2) but i could launch it manually. After uninstalling DVDShrink it worked without a problem.
I reinstalled DVDShrink and upgraded QuEnc to BETA3 and launches without a problem but it's been crashing at the end of the first pass with 1 second to go.
The Windows error log shows: "Faulting application quenc.exe, version 0.5.9.3, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x00010c3f."
When i uninstalled DVDShrink it works again.
Strangely though it worked flawlessly on a small sample (50MB as opposed the 3.5GB of a full episode) despite DVDShrink being installed.
I will point out that the computer has been running constantly for 5 days as i had a lot of episodes to convert. When the current encode is finished i'll give a reboot and do some more testing except that it takes 3 hours to do the first pass it'll take a while.
Is there any known issue between the two programs or any speculative ideas on why this is occurring?
Edit: Reinstalled dvdshrink and gave it a reboot and it seems to have settled down. It must have been a the windows installer getting the system in a twist.
