Is it safe to uncheck Nandub during installation of GK if I'm not going to encode in DivX 3? Or this is essential for the proper work of the RipPack

Hi-

Yes, you can uncheck it. It's not absolutely necessary.

Thanks manono
another one question, a little bit offtop, but still...
sometimes when (re)installing XviD, two "XviD Mpeg-4 codec"-entries appear in VDMod's "Video - Compression" windows: one with fourcc "xvid" and the other - "yv12"... But sometimes there's only one - with fourcc "xvid"...
Though everything seems to work ok in both cases, but still... why that happens

xvid is the associated decoder for yv12
when you cannto see this is probably because yv12 is associated with divx or another codec (or no nothing..)

Is this so bad or not? Does it influence on anything if yv12 is associated with xvid or not associated?..

It doesn't mean ANYTHING unless you happen to play an .avi file with a FourCC code of YV12. At that point, it will use whichever codec is currently assigned.

Worry about something else. Me, I worry about going bald. Pick something similar. :-)

ok. i see...
But i can't understand what's the reason for changing 4cc from "xvid" to "yv12" when making an XviD encode.. Does it give any advantages?

PS. Sorry for stupid questions :)

You don't. YV12 is not a codec, it is a colorspace, used by MPEG codecs. See:

I misspoke, the YV12 fourcc is used when processing YV12 colorspace info; at least, there can be YV12 errors if the fourcc is unassigned. See http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=636848#post636848

Thank you for the links, jggimi
after installing XviD 1.1 beta2 i got only one "XviD Mpeg-4 codec" in VDMod "video conpression" window and its 4CC code is "xvid".
When i go to regedit in "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32]", create the string parameter "vidc.yv12", and put "xvidvfw.dll" in there, another one "XviD Mpeg-4 codec"-entry apperares in VDMod.
Would this be enough to avoid the problems of ''Range check error'' described in this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=636848#post636848) post

I couldn't say, and I think you are way too worried about nothing, as I stated above.

Unless you get YV12 errors, stop worrying, and leave your registry alone.

As someone once famously said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
