I just recognized that AutoGK inserts Subtitles in two ways in Avi-Stream.
1. It just inserts Subpictures from *.idx *.sub. These Subs look like original. Means, if original sub looks crappy (bad font), then avi looks like too.
2. It transforms *.idx *.sub to *.srt and then uses TextSub(). Fonts looks smooth and have a nice shadow.
Seems that it uses 2nd method for forced subs.

Am I right? And could you insert an option to choose method?

...It transforms *.idx *.sub to *.srt...

I don't think so, unless things have changed a whole lot recently, because that would require Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

Both were made with AutoGK, no other tool.
First has a smooth text with shadows, differs from original DVD font.

Second has same font like original DVD font.

In both cases these subs are burnt in subs.

AutoGK doesn't OCR or alter subs in anyway. So you always see whatever vobsub is providing.
