Hi,

it is said in Xvid help/faqs: QPel advantage vs No QPel
is case dependent, in some cases it wins, in others loses.

But I have an idea:

1 px movement in 7xx*576 full PAL should be equivalent
to 1/2px in 1/4 PAL (3xx*288)
1/2 px move 7xx*576 full PAL should be equivalent 1/4px in 1/4 PAL
1/4 px move 7xx*576 full PAL should be equivalent 1/8px in 1/4 PAL

so there would be significant bias
toward slower (pixel based) moves in low resolutions.

Does it mean that QPel is more useful for low resolutions (384/352*288 PAL) comparing to high ones?
In oher words - is there more cases of lower sized encodings
with Qpel comparing with full(bigger) resolutions ?
