View Full Version : Runtime Error '6' Overflow
I've been reading about this program so I thought I'd give it a try but I've been running into this error. As soon as I try to load the Source path, I get this error: "Runtime Error '6' Overflow". I'm using DVD RB 0.80 with CCESP 2.67 and I've setup AviSynth 2.5 with all the *.dll files in place. I ripped the DVD to my HD using Decrypter and I have plenty of free HD space but I still get this error....
Thanx in advanced

Try using Rockas' installer...
I still get the same error, any other suggestions?

What version are you using?
I just tried Rocka's installer version 0.80, it just crashes with that error as soon as I try to load the source path. I seems like it doesn't even check that directory, as soon as I click the OK button after selecting the directory, it gives me that error.

It sure sound like something is wrong with the source path... is there anything special about it?
Are you saying the installer crashes too, or DVD-RB crashes after the install?
No, the installer is fine and the program runs fine until I try to load the source directory, which is d:\DVDRip\VIDEO_TS. As soon as I hit the OK button when I browse for the directory, it gives me the error and it crashes. I'm running the Japanese version of WinXP Pro SP2, maybe some issues with foreign Windows?

What happens if you run it in v0.82 and convert to SLIDESHOW?
What do you mean by "text segments"?
jdobbs
10th April 2005, 19:30
I'm confused. I have that disc and I just loaded it. There are 16 segments in VTS_04 (0 - 15) -- where are they? They don't show in your post???
SpazzHH
10th April 2005, 19:32
There are very short(less than 1000 frames) text only segments before each deleted scene giving a small background history on each. I just reran the same project without converting to slideshow with 0.83 and it passed that part already. It happens very early in project. I will try converting with 0.82 and let you know results very soon.

Sorry, was not as thorough as I should have been. I did preprocess with Vob Blanker leaving only Main Movie(Title 1-VTS_6),Trailer(Title 6-Last part of VTS_4),and Deleted Scenes(Ttitles 7-14-VTS_5).I haven't figured out yet how to get rid of warning screens, etc. using only RB.
Error occured at start of 6th segment-VTS_5. Project aborted when error occured. That was as far as that run went. I posted the error as soon as it happened, while error message was still on the screen even.
(Update) I have isolated the problem. It only occurs on a very small(19 frames) segment when converting to slideshow. It also will happen if you try and convert segment 26(23 frames) to slideshow. If you do not convert those segments, using them "as is", the project will continue with no error. Same result in 0.82 or 0.83. The problem seems to be in the small frame segment conversion, but I will certainly leave that conclusion up to you.

SpazzHH -- this isn't aimed at you, I just want to reiterate something to all.
Please, please, please... everyone -- if you preprocess, don't post any reported problems until you've tried it without preprocessing, and always, always mention the fact that you've preprocessed the file. I have spent an immeasurable amount of time chasing down rabbit holes only to find out later that the problem wasn't related to DVD-RB at all.

Did "The Terminal R1-NTSC" last night with 0.88. Once again, through Seg. Viewer, tried to convert the last segment of Main Movie VTS(end credits) to slideshow(I've only tried this once before-see above post). I got the dreaded "Runtime Error 6 - Overflow" message during Rebuild when Rebuild reached the segment that would have contained the slideshow. I am still using CCE 2.70.2 as before, and have tried doing a lot of the discs that people have reported problems with, just to see if I could make CCE choke. I have never been able to get it to act up, except here it seems. Everything else I do with it, for me, it works flawlessly, but convert end credits to slideshow, and it's choke, choke, choke. I redid this project, like the last one, without converting to slideshow, and it completed flawlessly. Can't see anything in CCE log that would be a problem on either project.

If you got a runtime error 6 during rebuild I don't think it would have anything to do with the encoder... it's DVD Rebuilder. So give me the steps exactly so I can try to repeat this.
You try to set the last segment of the movie to SLIDESHOW -- does it matter if its the last segment of the entire disc or not?

Hasn't mattered on location on disc. The Terminal has main movie in VTS 8 of 12.Don't remember, but think Sideways ways VTS 1, anyway, only common factor for me, was converting end credits segment to slideshow. Both times(and only times) I have done that, I got the Error 6. Redo with same source, without selecting that, and the project completes perfectly. The error pops up as soon as it tries to rebuild the slideshow segment.

There also is a reported "Runtime Error 6" that can happen during rebuild. I'm still trying to find that one -- but can't seem to repeat it. If anyone has a clue as to the circumstances, please let me know. I'd like to get that fix into 0.89 as well.

I had a runtime 6 error when using movie only mode for Vera Drake.I decrypted the whole movie with dvd decrypter, ran rebuilder in movie only mode using cce 2.70 trial. It re-encoded the movie as there was only 1 vts in the list. After the movie itself was finished, indicating 100% and 2.5 hrs. later,i got a runtime error 6.Sorry i can't remember if this was the rebuild phase,or it was trying to look for a non existent vts and then pooped out.
I used Videoredo to blank out everything and loaded the resulting file in rebuilder, and it completed no problem.
I was using .88 beta.
Waiting for .89 to try again.Great program.Keep up the good work.

I tried .89 pro with Vera Drake again, and i get the same error 6 when it tries to process vobid 4.The entire movie itself is in the vts folder,as i can play each vob individually, but when it gets to rebuilding vobid 4 it crashes.Maybe this is a quirk in this movie.I will have to try another movie and see.
cce2.70,movie only mode.
try using cce 2.6 or HC and see if you still get the error - also did you pre process or let dvd-rb blank out what you dont wont

Hi , Did you FIX This Problem in v.0.89 ?
ERROR 0006: DVD-RB has found an inconsistency in source data between the PREPARE and REBUILD phases. Aborting.
I'm using DVD Rebuilder with canopus Procoder 2.0 and this Error popup When Rebuilder Trying to Rebuild a DVD , Tryed many versions of RB and still no luck . Thx

I tried it with HC.Same error 6.I load the whole disc, and then selected movie only in rebuilder. When it gets to rebuilding vobid4 it hesitates and then the error. The progress window at this point is at %100.
At the point of error, rebuilder has re-encoded and rebuit and updated the navpacks for the first 3 vobs. That status window after vobid3 is at %100,which doesn't seem right
I attached a picture of the error.

I have gotten this error with Ice Age using ReJig. I am using the latest version of ReJig 0.5f (from DVD-RB site) and ripped using DVDFab Decrypter. There was no other preprocessing. What version of DVD Rebuilder are you using?
Is this an NTSC, R1 disc?
Did it happen on Disc 1 or Disc2?
Could you post your REBUILDER.INI file so I can copy your settings?

I just did both discs using DVD Fab v2.9.6.6, DVD-RB v1.05.1 and ReJig 0.5f -- and they went through without any problems. Apparently you are using different settings somewhere. I'll need your REBUILDER.INI file before I can continue.
