I have been backing up my DVD’s for a while now and I have stumbled across a few with this problem. I go into Nero 6 and I add the folder to the bit where you add the files and I click next, I choose the DVD drive then 4x Speed and click the burn button.

“DVD-Video Files compliance test failed. The Resulting DVD-Video may be unplayable. Do you want to Continue?”

I click YES and it continues and says this.

“There has been a possible read error during the operation, which may result in a defective write. Do you wish to continue anyway?

I continue with the burning and it finishes with no more errors. I have done this a few times with different DVD’s but the results the same. It does not work on my PS2 or my DVD player. It does work on my P.C but on one of them, the sound does not work.

WHY IS THIS? I am thinking it might be because there are backup files of the IFO’s in the folder I burnt. PLEASE HELP!

Nero usually gives such error when backup (BUP) files are not same as IFO files.

I have the same problem, what is the sollution just to delete the backup files?

And if, how to know which of them are backup?

EDIT:
I just tried to burn the DVD and play it in my computer, my brothers PS2 and my stationary DVD Player and all of them worked if it really had bad compliance it wouldn't had worked in any of them except the PC or would it?

Simple. Backup IFO files(s) - delete BUP, then copy IFO with WIN Explorer in same directory - you will get 'copy of....'. Then rename it to IFO, and delete beginning of name (copy of) .

That doesn't make sense?? :)

1. Backup IFO
2. Delete BUP
3. Copy Backup IFO to DVD dir and rename it (remove the copy of)? I allready have IFO files there?

EDIT :

I did
1. Backup And Delete *.BUP
2. Copy *.IFO to another DIR, rename *.IFO from another dir to *.BUP and move them back to VIDEO_TS
3. Burn
*. Still the same problem, reallocation failed, compliance failed etc

## same errors as first post press no to get to the status screen
DVD-Video files reallocation started
Violation against DVD specification detected
DVD-Video files reallocation failed

Though the DVD's seem to work if I burn them but it's still annoying

I didn't say that it is sure that problem is because of different BUP files.
Problem may be in GOP structure or similar. There is couple program for check Mpeg2 videos, however I experienced that they can't fix many problems.
