Hi,

I've a problem with InterVideo DVDCopy 3 Platinum (v3.0.B016.43C00).

It copies full disks fine but when I choose to copy just the main movie by ticking the 'main movie' mode box, the resulting DVD (actually a folder on my HD) will not play on my PC using WinDVD (surprising cos this is made by Intervideo as well). On my standalone DVD player a burnt version goes haywire 'searching' until you manually select the correct track. On closer examination of the files, using DVD Shrink, there are 18 tracks of almost empty (total 0.3 MB) 'extras' included with the main movie -- these are obviously causing the problem.

Ok, so I decided to try and get around this by using the mode 'customize' instead of 'main movie'. I made sure the only content that got a tick was for the main movie. But the exact same thing happened.

I have a workaround which starts with doing what I've already done with DVDCopy and then using DVD Shrink to create a DVD with only the main movie and not including the extra tracks that DVDCopy added. This way I get the superior quality of DVDCopy's compression (DVD Shrink doesn't have to do any shrinking as the DVD will already fit on one DVD) while still getting a DVD that plays fine because the extra tracks have gone.

I am sure you will agree that, while the workaround works, it is tedious. Any ideas how I can get DVDCopy to stop adding the extra tracks? [BTW the same thing has happened on 3 different DVDs, so it's not a one-off problem).

Thanks and regards,

MS

hi. have you made a folder named VIDEO_TS and all the vob and ifo files into it? because it is needed for windvd in order to play it from the hard drive. otherwise it cannot see it as valid DVD material

Yes, I've made the correct folders. The problem is how to stop DVDCopy from adding the extra tracks.
