Hi Guys, looked all over the forum for a clue on my problem but couldnt find anything. Ive been using DVD Xcopy to backup DVDs but the compression creates artefacts and block pixelisation on my system ( Denon 3910, 3805 and Panasonic 54 RPTV) only in some darker scenes. So after checking this forum decided to download DVD shrink, the only problem I have is that after deselecting stuff I dont want like french 5.1 tracks, extra's etc..it then doesnt let me backup..after clicking the backup button it says I have an I/O error...any idea's suggestions would be very helpful!!

Try to rip your DVD with DVD Decrypter on hard disk, then use DVD Shrink...

Shrink can't burn on it's own, it can only burn if you have Nero installed

Rip DVD to hard drive using Decrypter in File mode. Then use DVD Shrink to create an ISO Image file.

You can even have it burn the ISO directly with Decrypter but I like to create the ISO and burn separately with Decrypter so that I can change Booktype.

Decrypter has been the most reliable burns I have gotten and much better than Nero, although I am sure this varies by hardware.

Thanks, LIGHTNING UK! for your awesome software.

MCNC, if you are doing anything apart from making a FULL backup with DVD Shrink, you have to click the RE-AUTHOR button instead of the BACKUP button!

thanks for the replies guys, I downloaded Nero trial and its seems to work on this OK...when I want to backup a decent film I use Shrink when I just want to make a quick backup I use XCopy it seems to be a lot quicker and easier!
