I've used DVD Shrink to create a compilation DVD by setting start/end points for several scenes from different DVDs and then ripping each DVD to its own directory. I can then author a DVD by dragging the titles from the various directories in DVD Shrink. It is great how it reads the files and renames them for you so if you have Title 1, Title 2 from different DVDs, when you drag it, it renames it in the view to Title 1(2), Title 2(2), Title 1(3), Title 2(3). (You can't do this in Nero as the VOB, IFO, and BUP filenames are duplicates from the different directories.)
Here's my problem. When I burn the DVD (with Nero through DVD Shrink), it burns all the Titles as one big Chapter so I can't use the skip on the DVD player to skip between scenes.
I've read all the stuff about renaming the VOB files sequentially and using VOBEdit and IFOEdit. Just sounds like a lot of unecessary work to me. I'm suprised DVD Shrink doesn't have some option to create Chapter points at the beginning of each Title in the compilation.
I don't need any menu. I just want Chapter points created for each title (VOB file) in the compilation when I burn it.
So who knows the absolute simplest, easiest way to create a compilation DVD with chapter points. (Doesn't have to be using DVD Shrink, or necessarily freeware, but Shrink sure is a nice simple program to use to create compilation DVDs). The fewer programs/steps the better.
Thanks for your help!
