Turn On By Default Basic And Secondary Subtitles

Hello! (excuse for my bad english)

I have a DVD video (with *.IFO e *.VOB files)
with Italian and Spanish subtitles.

With the famous "PowerDVD" software
is possible to ability two subtitles language in the same time
Example:
Italian subtitles (basic subtitles)
and Spanish subtitles (secondary subtitles)

If I make this...
...in the videoscreen of "PowerDVD" to appear (in the same time)
Italian subtitles (in the low part)
and Spanish subtitles (in the top part)

I have read this method:

...but this method TURN ON by default basic subtitles only (...not secondary subtitles)

...SO...MY QUESTION IS:
I want to know if exist a method to TURN ON BY DEFAULT
BASIC and SECONDARY SUBTITLES in the IFO and in the VOB files.

Hi Max,

Only 1 subtitle stream can be on display. Not 2 at the same time.

There is a way:
- demux audio and video
- rip stream 1 to bitmaps, rip stream 2 to bitmaps.
- in a picture editor open bitmap 1 from stream 1 and paste in picture 1 from stream 2
- save as a new bitmap.
- repeat for all bitmaps in stream 1
- make a subtitle script for the new stream 3 (based on the script for stream 1 or 2)
- Import video/audio into your authoring app
- make the tracks
- if you only want stream the stream with the combined subs import only the new script. If you'd like to choose, import script one an two, the your new script
- compile

There are usualy about 1200 bitmaps for a movie so its a lot of work...

The display of two subtitle streams is not supported by the DVD specs, it is something PowerDVD added. I don't have the version that allows it, but if there is any way to set a default it would be in the configuration or preferences of PowerDVD, not the ifo files.

No. Thrust mpucoder!
There is no way to display two subpics at the same time with a regular player.
I don't use PowerDVD, but I'm sure it's a fancy gadget added by PowerDVD. It has nothing to do with real DVD players.

Anyway, why do you need to see 2 subpics at the same time? Are you a mutant?

is a special function of PowerDVD6 software

Is a good and rapid idea to learn different languages.

Yep, may be one language per each speaker is a good idea too... you have two ears, haven't you? :D
