View Full Version : DVD2SVCD MPlex /DVDAuthor problems?

I have recently purchased a DVD burn and switched from SVCD to DVD format using DVD2DVD ver. 1.2.2 build 3. I have had a problem with the last three movies that I have tried to backup. I realize that that I am having a problem with MkIsoFs (as stated in the log), but I have a work around for that.

The problem that I would like to address is with loosing the last few minutes of movies. I can play the Pulldown_Encoded_Video_NTSC.mpv file with Windows media player and the movie is complete with credits. After multiplexing, I tried playing the Plex_Muxed_File00.mpg with Windows media player and the last few minutes of the movie are missing. I can't make heads or tails out of what the MPlex_log.txt is saying. I think this is where the problem is coming from, but that is where I am hoping that someone out there will be able to figure out.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The Mods from the DVD2SVCD Basic Topics Forum drop by here quite often, but this request would probably receive a quicker response in their forum. Good luck.

Thread moved.

Wasn't exactly sure which place to put this post.

Could your HDD be Formatted as FAT32 blackhawk999999?

That would cause an issue with the multiplexing.....it would fail when the FAT32 4GB filesize limit is reached, chop off the end of your movie and cause the last couple of processes to get the staggers too.

Set the disc size to 3995 and give it another go.....

And check out the D2SRoBa plugin once you get sorted ;)

I think that could be a good call ralphthedog :)
The difference in disc space before and after mplex runs is exactly 4096 MB.

Coincidence? I suspect not...:sly:

switching to NTFS (which removes the limit) is extremely simple

google 'microsoft NTFS' or something of the sort, there's a small program that does the trick

you can switch only the HD you're encoding to if you'd like (that's what i did)

it's supposed to be completely safe (microsoft says so) but the rensponsibility of using it is on you (or microsoft ;) )

Thanks for the help. I will change over to NTFS. That was exactly the problem. It never occured to me that the file size was the issue. I had tunnel vision and was confident that it had something to do with the mplex.

Thanks again.
