View Full Version : Renaming OGG audio tracks with Gordian Knot

Mind you, I'm only new to Gordian Knot and ripping with Ogg/multiple audio tracks - anyway:

Is there a way to change the label of the language select, either before or after the encode? Most I've seen before have a brief description of each track, but mine all say "Sound English" in the drop-down menu.

After using DVD Decrypter, look at the Streams Information.txt file, it gives you the description of the tracks as described in the .IFO file. If that's not enough, you could either look at the track# of the appropriate soundtrack when playing it in your DVD player, or ... play the various soundtracks after demuxing them with DGIndex.

The labels I'm looking to change are in the .ogm rip backup. In Windows Media Player when I right-click I see:

Language > Sound English
__________Sound English

I'd like to rename them as something pertaining to the track, i. e. "Commentary." The stream info to which you referred shows "0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 5 / PTS: 00:00:00.049 / Delay: 0ms
0x81 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English - Director's Comments / LBA: 6 / PTS: 00:00:00.049 / Delay: 0ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x480 (NTSC) / 4:3 / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.049 / Delay: 0ms" and is apparently not picked up by the encoder, nor can I find anything within Gordian Knot to which I should direct it.

Yeah, I know it's against the forum rules to post a reply to yourself, but I could really use some help with this if anyone is willing. I'm ready to start a new batch of encodes and I'd like to do them right this time. jggimi gave me an answer which is either not to the question I asked or I am unable to understand it; it's the final .avi backup where I'd like to rename the tracks within the drop-down menu. As it is now they all say "Sound english."

on job control panel, when you can choose codec setting and audio setting (audio 1 , audio 2) there is a label for language

... it's the final .avi backup ...

 ---> If I recall correctly, Ogg Vorbis audio tracks are not usable in .avi containers.

I'll ask the newbie mods to move this to the new containers forum, where .ogm and .mkv container expertise is more readily available.

Sorry I wasn't any help.

Thanks, buzzqw, I looked and looked and never saw where to relabel them, but I'll look again.

jggimi, my mistake - I am using .ogg container, not .avi.

I looked again and can't find a place to enter a title for the audio tracks - I'm using GK v.0.35.0

Geez, I'm freakin' blind - thanks!

That helps a lot; I'd still like to customize them as I put a commentary in the second track, and I guess that's not a language.
