I have installed ffdshow with virtualdub164 and ffdshow has a fair set of codecs available for encoding, including huffyuv, xvid, etc.
I compiled huffyuv and looked at the inf file included with the source and have added it to virtualdub and it works nicely. So recently after compiling lame, a52, xvid and ffmpeg with mingw; I started wondering if I could do the same thing with ffmpeg.exe, xvid.dll using an inf file to add the capability to windows and hence virtualdub.
I havent tried to hack up an inf file as yet but thought that I would post the question, in case someone has tried this before.
By the by, the reason for all this, is that ffdshow has become rather difficult to compile from source, whereas ffmpeg is relatively straightfoward with mingw.
