I know the subject/topic line was strange and/or confusing, but let me explain what I'm trying to do (assuming it CAN be done):
Been using both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink for awhile now, but wanted to try something different out for the first time, and I have no idea how to do this....
Is it al all possible to take the subpicture (aka subtitle) stream from one disc and put it into another one via reauthoring? Specifically, what I am wondering if I can do I am wanting to do with two (or more) discs I have. The primary disc in question has an option for either watching the movie either full-frame (non-widescreen), or in its original 1.85:1 matted ratio via the subtitle option which places the matting at the top and bottom of the image. I've already decrypted the main movie info and files to my harddrive, and I'm wondering if it's possible to separate/extract this particular subpicture stream to combine it with the main movie off another disc in order to create a widescreen version, using the same subtitle/subpicture option as on the first disc which has this feature. Hopefully, by saving/extracting this particular subpicture info and saving it, I would then want to be able to combine it with the main movie from various full-frame discs I have in order to create widescreen versions of those films.
NOTE: Again, let me emphasize I am referring to movies originally shot and released in 1.85:1 matted ratios, which are on disc only in full-frame/unmatted versions. I am not referring to films shot in anamorphic 2.35:1 ratios.
I saw in the DVD Decrypter settings it was checked by default to "Create Additional Files: Stream Information". I seem to recall that over a year ago when I first used DVD Decrypter, it created a text-type file of the substream information....but I didn't seem to get that just now when I decrypted the disc.
Anyway, can someone fill me in on this and tell me if it is possible to do what I am attempting, and how to do it?
