This is sad....
All you guys are sad...
I worte a post - a comment on a post regarding the death of a Pope.
It was removed by Wilbert - as will be this post...
Why not close the threads and let people read what was in there?
Was it unwelcomed?
Was it inconvinient for some of you?
This board is getting sad - Inconvinient posts are deleted.
I used to come here very often. I was one of you.
My life has changed a bit and so my view of this board.
You will never allow people to say anything against any of you.
Just another way of censorship.
Deal with it, people.
Grew up!

What you see as censorship is what I see as trying to keep this forum focused. This is a place to discuss DVD conversion/backup/authoring etc. It is only by maintaining that narrow focus that we, the visitors, can fully enjoy our freedom of choice. We have the freedom to visit other boards with other themes, and hopefully they will be focused as well. It is not removing any perceived right of free expression, either, as the diversity of the web provides a place for everything.

Was it unwelcomed?Yes, absolutely. Religion, just as much as politics, is an area where common rationale quickly goes out the window, and using the very same argumentation when when rule 15 was created, it has now been updated to include religious discussion. I'm afraid I dropped the ball and should've done this yesterday when the new broke as I already suspected that what has happened in the past few hours would happen..
Either way in light of this, those threads needed to be removed, just as the discussion thread on the war in Iraq had to be removed 2 years ago.

I understand the rules.
I understand what you say guys.
But the reason for me to write what I have written in the first place, was the Koepi's post from the very first thread (it was deleted - but Moderators can still take a look at it - they know where).
A "Great" Koepi - will he get a strike?
Most likely not.
You will just have a little chat with him in the Moderators forum.
Will you allow people to see what's his opinion is?
Most likely not.
You just prefer to delete the post.
And what do I get?
PM from one of the Mods. Quite insulting.
You say you try to keep the forum focused on one thing and avoid political/relgion discussion. I agree with that.
But once again - how one of the Mods can do something like he did?
Shouldn't he follow the rules?
Of course he should.
And what do you do about it?
Delete the post.
The reason for it?
Avoid political/religion discussions?
Maybe - that's what the rules say.
Hide one of Mods controversial opinions from public?
Most likely.
I remember discussions like this. Happened many times before.
But let me repeat myself once again.
I do not disagree with the rules.
I disagree strongly with the falsesness of one of your Mods.
That's it.

Where did I break the rule? I explained why the thread is misplaced to _explain_ the rule by an example.
I gladly accept proper critics, but trhere you took something personal which clearly isn't, and this is why such topics don't belong into a video coding forum.
I apologize that you got the theme of the post wrong.

I get a bit tired of you. What do you care about what people trully think about things? Especially when words are removed from public domain.
I will close this thread and suggest you not to open up a new post about this.
