Hello Doom9 User´s,

i have record a big video with my logitech 3000 pro cam. as i stop the video recording (2-4h) the logitech software copy the file from ".../temp" into my favorit location ".../myvideos". this procedure take some minutes, but the software show me an unknown error (finish 80%) and broke off and erase both files (".../temp/video.avi & .../myvideos/video.avi).

i had this problem already several times (bad software), therefore i have made a copy from the aktive video during the recording (FILE 1).

with an undelete tool i saved the ".../temp/video.avi) (FILE 2)".

current i have 2 files:

FILE 1 = a copy from the aktive video recording = 1.846.808.576 Bytes
FILE 2 = the "orginal file" from the temp location, saved from an undelete tool = 1.860.526.080 Bytes

unfortunately both files cannot be played :(

INFO: The Logitech Software use "Indeo® video 5.10 Decompression Filter" videocodec.

i tried:

windows media Player
orginal DIVX Player
VLC Media Player
Divx Fix (functioned not because Indeo® video 5.10 Decompression Filter)
Videofixer functioned not because Indeo® video 5.10 Decompression Filter)
Virtualdub (same above - error: cannot determine file type of ******.avi)

so i hope u can help me its importent :( and sry for my english...

ps: i hope i write this thread in right section, otherwise move it ;)

I've moved this to General Discussion. The Logitech Webcam and its software has nothing to do with DivX Encoding.

Please pay attention to Rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) 3 and 13.

PULARITHA: i have logitech webcam 4000 pro, and i must say you, that is better to capture video in virtualdub, because u can select the codec and the quality will be much better (640x480 @ 30 fps). im very happy that i tried virtual dub, because i see big diference in picture quality...

Forget damn file.
'Aktive' problem solvers are busy with more common problems.

Try contacting Logitech, if you haven't already.

you still might be able to recover the file with an "un-delete" program
never fails to shock me how little people know or are willing to help those that don't know
