View Full Version : stabilizing color on noisy clip

Hello,
I've got a short clip. I looked at it frame by frame using
virtualdub and I see that besides the general noise, the
color varies frame by frame.

I haven't had much luck with the various cleaners, although
virtualdubs builtin temporal smoother turned all the way up
helped a little. What I'd like is way to stabilize the color
flashing but without too much smoothing.

Any thoughts on this kind of problem? Here's a sample (344k) :

Thanks,
Dave

In case anybody's interested, I used the "frame merge" filter
for this with good results. This filter is by Valentim Batista.

I looked at your clip. I seemed to me that either the recording or the playback "head" of the recorder was faulty. Everyother frame in a histogram showed all channels "dropping."

I'm glad that you found a filter that solved your problem.
