Vobblanker and rebuilder

I'm posting this for someone over at videohelp who just registered and can't post for 5 days. He's having problem opening DVDs with Rebuilder that have been processed with vobblanker. See this (http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1269344#1269344).
I think I remember that RB was unhappy with the "wrong" order of the VCIDs in the vob files, but I tried to find the thread where I read that (and the solution) but couldn't! (the search option on this forum is far from what I would hope for).

Anyway, jsoto can you confirm that that's indeed the problem? And remind me what the solution is (I can't even remember the name of the prog you use to renumber the VCIDs - I've never used it myself).

If that is indeed the case, then the poster might like to try using VIDChanger in fixed cell mode. That might fix up his VOBIDs.

This prog is available on jsotos site under "others", I think.

i have only seen mention of the latest versions of clonedvd2 having this problem. read from DMagic1's posts on this page

plenty of people have been using Vobblanker before DVD-RB for quite some time and not had problems, do you need me to find an example of that too ? so it could be something he blanked that DVD-RB doesnt like being removed, as winifreid said. you would need much more information than he has given in that thread to even start to guess what it could be. without knowing more blutach's suggestion is all anyone could say.

as for the 5 day rule sucking(as you say in that link), its there for a good reason. so people can actually search before posting things that have been asked or discussed before and also so they can read how they should ask something,such as how much information they may need to give so people know what the frell they are doing.
but hey lets see what people at videohelp think about wait before posting rules and asking other to post for you.

Well, I'm going to answer, mainly because I'm very interested in supporting DVD-RB.

This is the only case I see with a real problem of VB + DBVD-RB

You have to read some posts after the linked one. As you can read VIDChanger will not fix the problem, neither IFOedit's mock strip.

SCR discontinuities (going backwards) caused in some cases by VobBlanker are something really odd, and may be the root of the problem. I've never seen a problem in DVD-RB directly related with VID/CID order.

BTW, please keep the DVD on your HardDisk. VobBlanker 2.0 is coming and , at least in theory, this problem will be solved. I'd like to know there is one DVD which fails with VobBlanker 1.6 and not with VobBlanker 2.0.

Interesting thread... Anyway, I think imposing the 5 day wait period is a bit drastic: it sure shouldn't take 5 days to look through previous posts to try to find an answer to your problems, so why 5 days? I think a net result is that a lot of people end up being discouraged from joining the forum, maybe a good thing? maybe a bad thing... Anyway, that's OT, so I'll stop right here. Thanks for your help in that matter though!

For mine, I support the 5 day rule. We all had to "endure" it. It's there for a purpose that is well stated by doom9.

We have all seen other forums where posters just come on and type away merrily, not even looking a few threads down the page (much less actually searching for a solution). The result? The same question gets answered a million times over and over again.

More forums should impose a time limit IMHO.

Me too. 5 days is not so much if you really want to learn, you need much more time to investigate across this huge database.
If you only want a quick support/solution for your specific problem, well, try in other "unprotected" forum.
