i was reading the other thread concerning my .bin thread being closed, when i noticed something that irritated me..

i gave no reply? i pm'd the moderator that shut it down and asked why.. obviously i have received no response, as apparently it wasn't even read.

not that anyone will believe me.. (every newb must be lying right? as all we do all day is download illegal movie files.. ) .. but here's the situation..

my wife's cousin is really into skateboarding, and his group of friends are quite good at it. about 6 months ago, i used my discount at best buy to help him get a decent video camera. lately he's been experimenting with different programs for editing, etc.. about 2 months ago he ftp'd me some clips to watch. they were in the standard bin/cue format (he said he used it to save space.. not sure if it's the best way, but we're both fairly new to the various formats and their pros/cons)

anyways, i put the files on the hdd of my mediacenter xbox and used it to watch the clips. in the interest of trimming down the fat, i deleted the cue files as xbmc does not need them in order to play the bin's. (i thought they were just extra junk) now the time has come for some serious re-organizing of the hdd, as it is getting a tad on the full side. (only 12gb left on 160gb hdd) with all this organizing, i decided that i wanted to lump the clips together into short movies.

i did some searching around on this site (the only site i go to for video related questions) and found that there ways of doing this, but only if you had both bin and cue files.. well crap, i deleted those cue files. i thought about asking him to dig around and see if he could find them again, but decided against it as it was my issue and i should try and resolve it.. hence my coming here and asking.

in the end, it's not really a big deal.. i can live with having seperate bin files, it's just a matter of convenience. that and it's always cool to learn something new. ;) so if someone wants to help out then great, if not oh well.. i'll just keep digging around the net and see if i can find help elsewhere.

Why didn't you post a copy of the PM you sent me? If you had, the membership could all share in the senseless name-calling and insults. Some of them were quite unique, I must confess. If you'd like, I can post a copy of it. Do you usually take the time to respond to mail in which you're insulted and offended? I think not.

Maybe you should crank up another one. It appears that in your haste to call names and throw insults, you forgot to ask one single question on your .bin files.

If you'd like to conduct yourself as a gentleman, PM me, again, and we'll serve clips from your individual .bin files on my own personal server. Then, you can insert a link to these clips in a future thread and ask for help.

If you'd done your part by reading the rules and posting all pertinent information on the files in question, we wouldn't be having this fragmented conversation, would we?

Keep your cool and handle this responsibly.

Thread closed, again.
