One of my brother's friends has a Nokia 6620 phone and I'd like to encode one of my simpsons episodes for it, but I have no idea what specs (resolution, bitrate, xvid features, audio type and bitrate) to adhere to. Does anyone know where I can find that info?

P.S: the video is to be encoded via avisynth/VDubMod, so using a transcoding tool is out of the question.

If you look here (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,1072,0.html) you can find the model which is closest to the 6620 (I didn't find that model no. anywhere).

Then look at the display resolution. Leave some "security black letterbox" around the image by using a little smaller resolution and you should be set.

To be on the safe side, you can choose the "handheld" profile in XviD (choose between AS@L0 or 1 or Simple @ L0/1). Encode the clip twice (once which Simple and once with Advanced Simple) and see which clip's playback is smoother.

How can you play XviD on Series60?

6620 is the American version of 6600, plus little additions.

I'm not sure this phone is able to play XviD files. If it can't, you could try this: Nokia Multimedia Coverter 2.0 (http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/0,6566,034-63,00.html).

I guess you're right, since this will be such a low bitrate video there probably isn't anything to gain from doing it by myself. It's not like this phone supports AVC anyway.
