Ok, I want to see who can clean this the best. I got it pretty clean but I had to resize a little and blur/sharpen (ewwww). But it worked with a few other tweaks. I would be intrested to see how some of you pros clean it up. Anyways here it is, simple small vid. house.zip (http://home.comcast.net/~tmlewiss/house.zip) Please only download it if you are planning on messing with it. Thanks in advance for anyone who replies and/or attempts.

whoa, this is hardcore!

i'd just give it a relatively light filter and encode at a high bitrate.

...but i'm working on something to make this look tolerable. gotta get rid of the blocking though.

I haven't checked the video, but if it is blocky why not try mf's new Camembert function? It does denoising and deblocking and seems to be pretty good from what I've heard.

this looks pretty good to me, compared to the original that is

script:
loadplugin("E:\Media\Plugins\smoothd.dll")
avisource("E:\house.avi")
ffdshow("spline-1")#resize to 1280*960 via spline algorithm
ffdshow("noise-1")#luma noise 19 chroma noise 2 with new noise algorithm
smoothd(3,4)#deblocking/denoising
ffdshow("noise-1")#luma noise 19 chroma noise 2 with new noise algorithm
ffdshow("spline-2")#resize to 480*352 via spline algorithm, to help with aliasing

Hmm...
I might have to apply my l33t anime detail-owning filters to this tomorow and see what happens.

Actually, FFT3D shouldn't do too badly on this. I've worked on high-motion (more Tekken matches) 320x240 digital camera MJpeg footage before and they came out okay.

hehe... i did a test encode that completely destroyed most of the detail, but it looked sorta pretty afterward.

file was a little big though. when i get home i'll maybe post an x264 of it and the massive frankenstein's monster script i put together using the entrails of other half-finished scripts.

basically, made an ad-hoc convolution3d spoof using motion compensation (2 frames either way) and median blur, then put it all through a rather harsh detail-based spatial smoother. came out okay, but slow as poo. i was also going to deblock with ffdshow via directshowsource, but for some reason it wouldn't encode this way (hangs at frame 0) even though i could seek and look at it.

Why don't you re-shoot the clip under better conditions (better lightning, no super-fast shaky camera movement)? Way less work.

it looks like it was shot on a webcam... there was actually enough light around, but no amount of light will make that camera look good IMHO.

I made it craptacular on purpose. I wanted it to be hard.

Why do that? Spite?

And where can I find more info about that?

In his forum. I don't know if it's ok to post its adress here, so google for it or send me a PM.

mf's forum (http://mf.onthanet.com/forum/index.php) is an open one, and not on this one's black list, AFAIK ;)
The sad thing about this Camembert (http://mf.onthanet.com/forum/index.php/topic,187.msg1422.html#msg1422) is, that you can't bake it ... /*slurp*/ :D
