encoding at Q1, do i enable b-frames ?

Hi,

i want to encode a movie with the best quality that xvid can do (so i use Q1), must i enable b-frames ? which settings ?

muse i enable trellis quant or other options to get the better quality possible ?

Q1 is a bit an overkill, you can and up with a file BIGGER than the source and gain relatively little in quality...

Btw, i'll use 1pass costant Q1, with b-frames default, Qpel, VHQ4 and for b-frames too, Trellis, AND a good high bitrate custom matrix like 6of9 or Sharktooth's (search for them).
That's probably the best quality XviD can do...

And using one of the highest-bitrate matrices around, you should be able to reach filesizes up to 4 GB per hour or something. Now that's top-notch quality! What more can you want? :)

for my matrices look at my signature. V3UHR should be enaugh (do a 2-pass with predefined size, or try a q3/q2 encoding. Dont go q1!).
If you dont care at all about the size use V3EHR (... and hope your hard drive is big enaugh ...)
