I formatted my hard drive and re-installed Win XP. After I installed the GKnot rip pack 0.35 and the Codec Pack 1.9, my Windows Media Player 10 doesn't work any more. ALL movies and music will spit out an error message and close the program. At first it was saying something about an error downloading a new codec, and now it just closes immediately. Can someone please help me? Thanks.

I don't suppose reinstalling wmp10 fixed the problem?

I can't see anything in GK that would interfere with that player to be honest, not even the codecs.

All the same, now you know why wmp10 isn't a big favourite round here ;) It's useless.

I re-installed WMP to no avail. Even my Real Player is kind of messed up now, as it gives a message saying "cannot start playback, need new codec."

What's a good player to use that's preferrably compatible with AC3Filter? I tried the DivX player, but the audio sounds like it's being played in slow motion. Thanks :)

Thanks so much! MPC plays everything I could throw at it. It also helped me figure out why WMP was crashing. The DirecShow Audio output was set to Null Audio some how, so I rolled it back to DirectSound. Now everything works again.
