I would like to use Quenc with DVD2SVCD. It doesn't give me that choice or at least I can't see how to do it. Is there any old threads that tell how to do it or is it even possible?

DVD2SVCD supports QuEnc since version 1.2.2 build 2
23 august 2004 version 1.2.2 build 2 - New feature: I have added support for Nic's QuEnc. Now DVD2SVCD can be run with freeware programs only if you want to . However QuEnc is still in it's infancy and it is based on ffMPEG which have problems maintaing the Average bitrate when using VBR. Many promises has been made by the developer(s) of ffMPEG to fix this, but they never gets around to it, hint hint
Just go to the "Encoder" tab and select QuEnc as your encoder.

The latest QuEnc 0.59 beta 2 works, but a lot of parameters have been added that DVD2SVCD does not know. So it is a good idea to first start QuEnc and make the desired settings under the "Advanced" button. Don't forget to turn audio muxing off, otherwise QuEnc will hang when called by D2S.

For very low bitrates you might prefer QuEnc 0.54 (a little hard to find, AFAIK Dragongodz still hosts it). Do not use Trellis (buggy), and for 0.54 it is also better to turn scene detection off. The "Extreme and Slow" settings are not worth the time.

Maybe you also should give FreeEnc a try. It is fully compatible with QuEnc, I find the quality a tiny bit better at low bitrates. (Do NOT use the default template, use the "Incredible KDVD" template instead).

Anyhow you will be surprised by the quality of both encoders at low bitrates. Much better than CCE...

Thanks for getting back to me and giving me such a thorough reply. I will try your suggesstions in the near future. I've got to reload DVD2SVCD since I cleaned it off my HD. I cleaned it off when the "T" encoder DEMO stopped. Ran out of time.
