ifoedit destroys cell play time

Hello all.

Another bug I found lately in ifoedit...sob...

When I strip some parts (audio streams, subtitles...) of a vob, ifoedit kills all cell playback time and cell command links.

For example, I'm editing some Simpsons dvd's that have storyboards in them which you are supposed to view sequentially by pressing next on the remote.
All the cells that comprise such titles have cell time set to 255 (infinite), so they stay on screen untill you press next (or prev). Also, the last cells usually have references to cell commands.
But, if I use ifoedit to strip audio or subtitles from the vob files that contain these titles, all cell times and cell command references get wiped out - everything goes to 0, and, ofcourse, instead of the storyboard slideshow, I get the storyboard movie that runs out of the screan quite fast.
The solution is to manually correct every cell time in pgcedit, entering 255 where necessarry, but that is quite tiresome (not to mention that it should be done in the first place...).

Does anybody have such experience as well? Or maybe a solution?

Yes. Cell commands are a well-known bug. Derrow says he'll get round to fixing it.

Haven't seen cell times affected but certainly cell commands.

Grrrr...I've waisted one dvd before I noticed it...
Any news of a new ifoedit version which will fix this and the other bug I posted, about loosing streams during stripping if they are not sequentially ordered?

Or, is there any other tool that can be used instead of ifoedit that does work correctly, for the time being?

I tend to strip streams with DVD Shrink, actually.

But also with IfoEdit - you just need to know to pop the cell commands back in. I do that with PgcEdit - it has a very easy to use interface.

As for timing of bugfixes for IfoEdit - your guess is as good as mine. Derrow hasn't posted for a while.

Well, if I use dvdshrink for such a job, then I have to use reauthoring process, which wipes out my menus and the whole structure of the dvd, which is not quite good if you want to keep the dvd "as is", only without some of the streams...

So far, I haven't heard of any other software that can be a substitution for ifoedit...
VOBBlanker can do some stripping, but only for audio - it does not even show the subs, so I use it to blank some titles (logos, warnings, fbi/cia/blahblah stuff) and strip audio streams, but it keeps all the subs.

Usually, I use vobblanker first to get rid of stuff I don't need for sure, then use ifoedit to strip al little more (subs) and correct vts sectors, and finally pgcedit+menuedit for finetuning (changing menus, audiostreams ordering, commands...).
So, with nonworking ifoedit, I loose the functionality it has, and do not see the way (yet) to skip using it and substitute it's functionality with something else I have at hand.
That is why I'd like to know is there some other tool that can do what ifoedit does, only without bugs (or at least that is activelly maintained and developed).

Why do you have to do "reauthoring" in DVD Shrink? You can do a full disk backup and just untick the streams you don't want, including subtitles. Just make sure disk is uncompressed and disregard the red line and DVD Shrink's warnings. Output ot hard disk folder.

MenuEdit is not needed any more either. PgcEdit has a menu editor built in.
