I am looking into using VDubMod w/o Asynth (see http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92330). Snooping around, I found VirtualDubMPEG2. Can anyone point me to a link with differences between this version and VirtualDubMod? I'm a little confused because I am able to read MPEG2 files into VirtualDubMod. I do see that VDubMPEG2 can support AC-3 with the plugin from the same author.

VirtualDubMod was a unification of several different open source projects which all started out as modifications of the original VirtualDub (including my own VirtualDub-MPEG2). It grew into a very different program from VirtualDub, with many unique and powerful capabilities. I probably can't list ALL the features they crammed into VirtualDubMod, but the following stand out. VirtualDubMod can:

- Work with multiple audio streams
- Import AC3, MP2, and OGG audio directly
- Open and Save AVI, Matroska, and OGM files
- Read MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 files

By comparison, VirtualDub-MPEG2 is the same old VirtualDub 1.5.10, just with the added ability to read MPEG-2 files. That's it.
