dvd keeps spinning, but won't read

trying to backup region 0 dvd of oldboy. when i put it in my dvd burner (sony dru530a) it spins and spins, but won't read. any idea why this happens? dvd has no scratches and plays fine in regular player. thanks, sorry if this is a dumb question.

Looks to me as if it's a drive issue. Have you tried to read the disc in another burner? And does it play well in another ROM drive?

If it does play in another drive then backing up is no problem.
