Hi,
I have Nero software that came with my DVD burner. There is a feature that you can import video files, then re author them by adding chapters, menu ,etc and then make your own movie.
When I try to import the DVD files, I get an error.
So is there any other easy way to convert vob files to avi or mpeg files so I can import them that way?
Thanks

hi,

well after a bit of fruitless searching on the net (and aheads home page), i could not find a lot of information about the types of video files nero accepts.

however, you can demux into elementary streams using:

* dvd decrypter in 'ifo mode', sream processing
* dgindex, as described here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92234)
* doitfast4u, for an automated approach to demuxing part/or all of a dvd

or, for simplicity, you could try pgcdemux, by jsoto, avaliable here (http://www.videohelp.com/~jsoto/dvdtools.htm)

btw, out of interest, what errors was nero giving when importing?

Maybe the DVD files are CSS encrypted and Nero doesn't do deCSS.
