View Full Version : One HD channel's ts recordings have 1.5fps??

I searched for this so hopefully I don't get yelled at!

I have a problem with WLVI (WB 56) in Boston, MA. I record with my fusion III QAM either OTA or QAM. When I bring up the TS (1920x1088i) file in HDTVtoMPEG or DVD2AVI or any program besides VDubMod, I get a FPS of 29.97. So, I use HDTVtoMPEG or VideoReDo to create a mpeg file (for some reason Vdub won't open my ts files) and VDubMod reports the fps as 1.5, which as you can guess causes some problems.

Does anyone have any idea why this would happen or what I can do to correct it?

Thanks,
Chris

It sounds like a bug in VirtualDubMod, but VirtualDubMod is no longer being developed so it isn't likely that the code will be corrected. I'm curious though if VirtualDub-MPEG2 (http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net) shows the same bug.

Thanks for the reply. Using that software, the fps does come up as 29.97. If I demux the ac3 stream with another piece of software and add it in, can I use this to convert this over to MPEG4? What form does the audio need to be in?

Basically, I'm looking to convert these streams to play on a DVD player... that's the goal. :)

Thanks much!

If you install AC3ACM (http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/AC3ACM), then VirtualDub-MPEG2 can read the AC-3 in the original MPEG-2 file, and either recompress it or Direct Stream Copy it into an AVI. There shouldn't be any need to demux.

I'm afraid I can't help you create AVI files for a DivX-capable DVD player, if that's what your goal is. I don't have one of those players (yet). ;)
