nero digital mobile problems

I've made a try with nero recode to transcode a tv series epside for my SE K700i. I've set up best possible quality 176x144 resolution, mpeg4 simple profile, mobile (so not AVC), letteroxing. I allowed 32 Mbyte for mp4 file. The problem is that, my SE k700i plays the movie horizontally compressed - kinda problem with anamorphism. What did I wrong?

I use XviD with Nero Digital LC ACC in *.mp4 for my SE z1010, it works perfect! Considering that these phones are the same brand, they should both work equal in terms of MPEG-4. Try encoding the video with Nero ASP, or XviD. I'm not sure it handles AVC since well, it's just a cell phone. Mine doesn't.

I've done mpeg4 SP "mobile" setup within recode, ASP is not valid for mobile, i mean B-VOP, qpel, custom quant matrices, gmc, etc... are not supported by moblie phones.

But I told, it's not about wether the video is playable on my SE K700i, it's about the aspect ratio.

Try XviD SP and mux it with Nero Digital LC AAC to mp4. You know how to do this? I can provide a fully working sample that works perfect on my phone. If that one doesn't work for you, then there's something wrong with your phone most definitely.

Okay I can do it, with Doom9's meGUI. Doom9 http://forum.hwsw.hu/html/emoticons/ico_respect.gif However what setup you are recommending with xvid? nero's SP codec is not so perfect, at least for me...
I think nothing is wrong with my phone, because mp4 direct maker did a lot of useful encode, however my trial period is expired, and since I've bought nero VE3, I don't want to buy mp4 direct maker, too

okay but my phone has 40 MBytes total, so to have a 42 min movie fit, the overall bitrate couldn't beat 96kbps audio, video, container overhead inclusive. So do you think that with 80kbps video rate your recommendedt setup will be okay?

Hey, that's just fine. 128 kbit/s was maximum. Beyond that the playback becomes very, very slow, since the phone can't catch up with the bitrate. Howerver, if you choose lower resolutions/fps, the bitrate can be raised a little.

I've no problem with lower bitrates, for resolution I use 176x144 and letterboxing and the frame rate is always 15fps - this is kinda mobile phone specific, at least afaik...

Ooops and there is the problem. if I have 23.976fps or 25fps (dvd source) which way can I achieve 15 fps with avisynth?

And yes, those are mobile specifics, but if you use lower resolutions, you can use higher fps than 15.

stupid me, it's avisynth changeFPS() ;)
so within the avs script:

loadPlugin("DGDecode.dll")
mpeg2Source("movie.d2v")
lanczosResize(176, 96)
converttoyv12()

while audio is conerted from DD 5.1-> stereo wav, that imported to quicktime, and expoerted as mp4, FS=16kHz, bitrate 16kbps, mono. It's told that qiucktime produces the best quality.

and finally the video part transcoded with megui, and muxed into the mp4 produced by quicktime.

uh, a little bit complicated, but hope it will work :)
