I'm trying to convert some Divx 5 format anime to DVD format. It's been going good so far, except for a few files. For some reason these files, when run through any conversion utility -- e.g. TMPGEnc, VirtualDub -- will have a "blocky" sections of the video which keep the last frame's pixels in that section at each I-frame. The blocks only last one frame, but they're large and numerous enough to be annoying.
The weird part though, is that these files play back fine in both Media Player Classic and Windows Media Player. No blocks of "lagged" pixels at all. I've updated to the latest drivers via the K-lite Codec Pack, but I couldn't find an uninstall command to "clean" (remove) the existing DivX 5 codec before that. Of course, the question is whether or not that is even the problem. I have no clue what to do to fix this, except reformat/reinstall, but that's kind of like tearing down the house to fix a clogged sink. (I've been watching commercials lately :P) Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
