Some time ago, I backed up several DVD's to my HD using DVD Shrink (Reauthor). I now want to take those files and convert them ultimately for playback on a pocketpc. What is the easiest process for this? Many people in the PPC community use FairUse for this purpose as it is pretty simple. In order to use FairUse, the HD files need to be converted back to an ISO image I believer...I was going to use DVD Decrypter for this, however, I can't seem to figure out how to get it to get to the files...under source it only gives my dvd drives etc.
Am I missing a setting in DVD Decrypter somewhere? Or is there a better way for me to do this :)
Thanks!

Hi-
Yes, to get DVD Decrypter to see them again, you'll have to make an image file and then mount it in something like Daemon Tools to get DVD Decrypter to see it in the virtual drive.
However, I think there's an easier way, that'll produce as good if not better results than Fair Use, and that's Auto Gordian Knot (AutoGK). You'll only need the IFO for the main movie files (and the vobs, of course). There are a couple of guides for AutoGK here:

If you decide you like AutoGK, then tell your PPC friends about it.

manono,
Thanks for the suggestion...you were reading my mind. Ultimately, I do want to start using AutoGK for this purpose as I was figuring the results would be better. A person or two has recommended AutoGK on the Aximsite forums but I don't think it got as much attention because it seemed a little complicated I imagine. Once I work my way thru it, maybe I will try and post my steps over there. I was going to place a link to this site anyway for people asking questions about this topic..especially with the Axim X50v people are really interested in converting to ppc usuable formats.
I was going to try a few runs with Fair Use just to get something playable. What do I use to make the file into an image file again?

I'm sure there are several ways, but I use ImageToolClassic (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Vobtools/Classic_0.91.4.zip). Before creating the image I create a VIDEO_TS folder and stick all the DVD files in there, and an empty AUDIO_TS.
And AutoGK is anything but complicated to use. It was created for people such as you. It'll take you longer to read a guide than it will to make a few mouse clicks to start AutoGK on its way.
