i had great success with DVD shrink a while ago, it enabled me to squash one of my fave DVD's onto a standard 4.7gb blank DVD, compressing to the tune of 50%

what i am asking is, if i should get a Dual Layer (8.5gig) DVD writer does DVD shrink recognise Dual Layer Blank DVD's, so that if i Back Up the same DVD, that was previously compressed by 50%, it would not be compressed at all when put onto a dual layer blank DVD ?.

i hope that is clear enough, i have an idea that the dual layer blanks are far more expensive, LOL.

Yes, DVD Shrink supports dual layer media, so it won't compress at all.
But then, you don't need DVD Shrink. Just get DVD Decrypter and use ISO Mode to rip and burn, then you're done.

i have to warn you though, dl dvd writers are widely available by now, but not so is the media. even worse, dvd+dl prices are sky high, imho...
