Hi,
This is the first time I have seen this. I ripped a DVD (concert DVD region 2) to my HD with no problem. Then I tried to use DVD shrink to back it up but DVD shrink was not able to back up the DVD on a single disc. I even tried to remove the menus but that did not help.
I have backed up entire movies with no problem before.
The total size of the files on the HD is about 7.5 GB. I had moviews that were over 8 GB and was able to back them up with no problem.
Any idea how to fit this on one disc?
Thanks

I'm guessing the audio is PCM correct? Most likely the PCM audio is say around 3GB or something like that. DVDShrink can only compress I think around 50% max. So if your video is 4.5GB (3GB audio + 2.25GB) video is still over 4.37GB DVD+R.

yes it is PCM.
Is there other way of having this thing on one disc beside DL disc?
Thanks

Demux the video and audio, change the audio to AC3 or MPEG2 audio with Besweet, use some authoring tool like IFO Edit and author the .mpv/.m2v and the audio .ac3/.mpa. Then shrink it if it doesn't fit the DVDR.
I think it'll work, although I haven't tried it yet.
I've had to do this very same thing while trying to convert
some old VHS tapes to DVD. The program I used for creating
the dvd (Roxio DVD Creator) only outputs LPMC audio which
takes up a lot of space.
The tools I used were pgcdemux to seperate the audio and video,
AC3Machine to convert the LPCM to AC3, muxman to put the AC3
audio and video back together, and then vobblanker to replace
the original program with the new. Make sure you have pgcdemux
write out the chapter info and include it in muxman.

what kills me is that I'm sure that I have backed up this DVD before using DVD shrink like a year ago or so but I have lost that copy.
Maybe I will try an older version of DVD shrink and see.

Now I remember what I did. I shrunk it to the HD and then ran it again using DVD shrink and it worked that way.
