I was able to play it with MPC 6.4.9.0 and Sonic Decoder Pack 4.2.
However, I had to manually seek it past the beginning to get it to play. Strange.
I couldn't get it to play at all with WMP 9.

Hi Revgen,
Thanks for info.
MPC does not approach, since use DirectShow graph for playback.

Where does one get the Moonlight encoder? I don't see it on the Solveig site and Moonlight doesn't seem to be around anymore.

You are quite right, Moonlight codecs finding is pretty difficult occupation. Use insteade of moonlight - Elecard or Mainconcept encoders

Hi Dmitry,
I indeed was able to mux a vc1-video-track into an asf-file which I then was able to mux into a wmv-file using the MS-datastream editor for windows media. Boths files play with the WMVideo-decoder. The only trouble I have found that the I frames do not seemed to be interpreted the right way with the result that the asf- or wmv-file show a kind of a tiled effect of old parts of the last I-frame remaining within the presented picture which is only slowly replaced by new part of new frames. I have used an elementary vc1-clip which previously has been posted by stegre in a different thread about his VC1-demuxer-dshow-filter. If anybody is interested I could upload the resulting wmv-clip.

Hi, sorry for bringing such an old thread up,. but i was doing research to a problem that i was having recently with this.
I dont know how to work it out exactly as i am quite new to it, but i recently got it working on my system, however whenever i want to try and input a file containing a h.264 stream with ac3 audio, i always get this error message.

does anyone know or can tell me what to do exactly next?

May be codec problem? Does a WMV container support h264 encoded video?

Yes, it's possible to store H264 video in an ASF file. Media Player Classic, Windows Media Player 6.4 and ActiveMovie will play it happily — which not always is the case with WMP 9 and higher. :(
However, Undead Sega uses Windows 7 x64, and the SolveigMM ASF Muxer, AFAIK, hasn't been updated in years.

that cant be right, Windows 7 (even the 64bit) would overcome bit-compatibility issues. But either way, why am i getting an error stating that it fails to start DirectShow Filter graph? Wat am i missing or doing wrong? What kind of files will it need to accept as i was doing it as an MKV?
and isnt there any other ASF/WMV Muxer that i can insert a h.264 stream into?

Can I use this to demux WMA from ASF/WMV?
Of course. Use SolveigMM Video Splitter
that's a how to rip WMA from WMV/ASF (http://www.solveigmm.com/en/howto/how-to-rip-audio-from-video-with-video-splitter/)
Btw, two day's ago new version with support AVC/h264 frame accurate editing was released (AVCHd,MOV,MKV,MP4,MPEG-2,WMV,AVI) (http://www.solveigmm.com/en/products/video-splitter/)
