2. there is unviversal video logo at first play and then the menus which seems ok (work ok as well) BUT the movie is not shown i can here the sound but see nothing except 2 red lines at the bottom of the screen.

what about the file size that was shrink to 1.9gb ? how do i fit the 5.5gb at this case to 4.7gb ?

It's undersized because the video isn't being encoded (instead an error message is. That's what the read line is, but it's too garbled to read). If you fix the problem it will fix the size issue.

Q4. I set everything up -- but nothing seems to happen and/or I get video that is a black screen with orange/red lines at the bottom.

A4. You probably are having a problem with the location of MPEG2DEC3DG.DLL. In the installation instructions (see the REBUILDER.TXT file) it tells you to put that file in the AVISYNTH Plugins directory. That should work. But some 3rd party software designers (bless their hearts) have decided to change the AVISYNTH registry entry to another location... You fix that by entering the setup dialog of DVD-RB and pointing directly to the MPEG2DEC3.DLL file -- also, click on the "Add to AVS File" checkbox.

This response is still valid, but slightly out of date. Instead of MPEG2DEC3.dll I would recommend using DGDecode.dll. But be sure to use this version (http://forum.doom9.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=613629). Also the 'Add to AVS File" checkbox was removed, so you don't need to do that step.

Once you update the file and tell DVD-RB where it is, start over from the beginning. You can be sure it is working by opening an .avs file in the D2VAVS folder in your working directory AFTER you redo the Prepare phase (or if doing 1-click you see the encoding has started) . You should be able to open it in a media player and see the video to be encoded.
