Scenaid 1.5 b45 now available for download

Fixes/Changes:

More BoV Fixes / Changes
Fix for audio files w/ odd filenames
Audio now dummied by delaycut instead of BeSplit
Pal Dummy files recreated for proper PAL AR/File size (I hope)
Dummy creation is now unique to PGC / Cell - should completely get rid of all the issues w/ palette errors
Fixes to bitrate calc routine not to error if file isn't found
Improvments to the scene allocation routines which were causing .4sec errors in Scenarist
Changes / Additions for proper datafile generation for BatchEncoder

New features:

Asset removal now works - limited to removal of video and all assets associated with - removed assets will be dummied per scene
Bitrate generation now works (Multi-Main movies do not curreently work) - please compare the bitrate you get from Scenaid to the one produced by Doitfast4u and/or RA - so far they seem fairly accurate
Errors requiring user attention are now logged to a seperate logscreen
WAV / PCM Audio is now supported

forgive me for my ignorance, but I looked at the fixes and does this include the fix where a "forced sst" file created and there are no .bmp associated with it?

Thanks

i run in a problem while converting sub/idx into sst file format as you can see in my discussion with Mpucoder.

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&goto=lastpost&threadid=90693

is this problem relevan to to vsconv or to muxman ?

Mpucoder say that is a common error. I don't know.

So: will vsconv update to fix this glitch ?

Thanks

BHH

P.S. : i posted in this section because i use your version of vsrip/vconv, fell free to move to another forum' section.

I believe I already did take care of that but if not I certainly will

other related question

In sst file i suppose is possible to specify subs color, isn't it ?

well, could be possible to add a parameter to pass at vsconv for copy color from another ifo ?

vsconv doesn't look at ifo's atall... purely the .idx file you point it to....

however you can always modify the palette info in the .idx

ok, sorry for being blatant :D

Thanks

If you didn't see it in the change log then it wasn't changed....

I tested empty subs and couldn't duplicate your issue so there wasn't anything to fix from my side

Next time if you have a problem, report it before you delete the project then maybe we'll have something to work off of

I forgot to mention this build also adds support for PCM/WAV files.

I'll note it in the top post as well

Hi there!

First of all thank you for your great work :)

It looks like something messed up with the subtitle color table in this b45 version (earlier versions worked fine, 1.00, b17, b20). In the compiled (with Scenarist 3.0) movie the color table completly changed. I can handle this, but I think you may be interested...

more then likely there was different palettes used in that title... there should have been a note about that in the error log window....

when that's the case, the scenarist default palette is used across the VTS set, in which case the palette info should NOT be copied over for that VTS during the ifoupdate stage..

I'm working w/ trahald to have this be auto detected in batchupdateifo

encountered this with build 45
========
Info Creating DVD Video files
Error Cell "VTS4_Title1_PGC1_PG26_C1" and Cell "VTS4_Title1_PGC1_PG1_C1" in PGC "VTS4_Title1_PGC1" use different color palettes. Please use one color palette for all tracks in the same PGC.
Error PreCheck From DB failed.
Error DVD Video files could not be created
===========
I opened simulation window and instead of yellow text on black outline, the subtitle is colored purple text on blue outline.

I changed the subtitle color using "Tools -> Change Color". I opened simulation window to verify change and it's correctly displaying the subtitle colors.

Proceed to build the DVD and I again encountered the error stated above.

If you need some files to debug, please tell me what files and I'll provide them.

Thanks

Thanks

Me got exactely the same error as jarthel...
Three palettes were present (looking in the track editor), one was the scenarist default, one for PGC1, and one for PGC2.

Just one (the first) of the subtitles for PGC1, in the track editor window, was linked to the default palette, instead to the PGC1 palette. In my situation, manually making the right attribution made the whole title correctly compiled...

Cheers,
SD

I found the issue causing that.... apparently i forgot to update the routine that fixes the dummy cell palette.

It has been corrected and a new build will be out soon

I try to reauthor the movie Big Fish (R2, PAL, contain BOVs). I tried two ways, but Scenarist (3.0.0) always crashed without any word.

1. case: I let ScenAid (1.5 b45) to work with BOVs. Then I tried to import the script into Scenarist, but it crashed during the import process.

2. case: I disabled the BOV support in ScenAid. Now Scenarist imported the script without an error/warning message. (With or without some litle modification) when I wanted to compile the DVD it crashed instantly.

I can reproduce this cases and I can send you some files if you need them for examination.

Big fish is a tricky one..... Jel has recently done that and I'm not sure what his end resolve was

davemorell

I see...I've got a very very big fish :)

Anyway I have no use of BOVs 'cause I make movie only backups and for this I use ScenAid's script. But in this case I have to make the Scenarist project manualy. It took me some day, but I learnt many things about it. :p

Thanks for the reply...bye!

yes, big fish, little fish, swimming in the water ...

to be honest D3s7, even I cant remember how i fixed that one :eek:

from memory though, the two main errors (although not sure which beta of scenaid i used for this one) was a problem with unspecified languages in the VMG, and HLI buffer problems with the BOV. both of which were (reasonably) easy to fix, however from memory, neither caused failure/crashing on import, only export.

however ... ...'cause I make movie only backups ....would most likely be causing your import errors with BOV enabled, as the buttons link to 'non-main movie' VTSes, and if those were removed, the links would be invalid.

considering how good this movie is, and how well authored the extras/BOV and trivia questions are, i would highly recommend doing a FULL back-up of this DVD. as far as authoring goes, it really is up there with the best.

Jel: I thought a lot about how to backup DVD's for myself. Keep everything, just the menu and strip unwanted things, movie only... Then I chose movie only method... Until I have to compress the movies to fit on a single layer DVD (I want to reach the best quality) I will do this.

And you are right it's a very good movie and worth to do a full backup. When the DL discs's price goes down I will do full backups instantly... maybe I remake my "movie only" collection. 'Cause I like to play with reauthoring :)

Cheers!

Wow, thanks very much D3s7, good to see development hasn't stopped on this project (I haven't been around in a while). Does anyone know what is going on with Eyes`Only?

Error scanning assets..

Hi, I'm working on R1 Return of the Jedi, and I get the following while scanning the DIF4U directory:

Procedure Name: GetReturnID
Module Name: ProcessAssets

Error Number: 13
Error Description: Type mismatch
Error Source: ScenAid
Error Line: 3
Call Stack:
ProcessAssets --> GetReturnID
ProcessAssets --> ProcessAudio
Form1 --> ProcessDIF
Form1 --> DIF_Browse_Click

this appears to be related to an .ac3 file, which I ran through ac3fix, which found no errors...

any ideas? thanks for such a sweet tool, I am a recent, yet fanatic convert!
