Welcome to the forum:

There are a few things to try, or check, when confronted with DVD burn failures:

1. Slow down your burn speed
2. Check for media that's compatible with your burner Burner/media compatibility (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters)
3. Make sure that DMA mode is enabled
4. Check for the latest firmware updates for your unit http://forum.rpc1.org

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................

If you meant "media" error, I would assume this to be correct. The media code is throwing all zeroes, indicating that your burner is seeing an "empty" drive. Find some compatible media and you should be back in the game.

Thanks ammck55. Yes, media error would be the question. This was some free media from Disc Makers that came with my 716-A. I had a feeling that it wouldn't work at the max speed. Just curious about the error message. I guess I will lower the speed on those and stick with Verbatim Media.

On another note. I have some vintage concert footage on dvd and I would like to know if there are any programs that I can use to increase the audio or video quality. Thanks Again :)

A little friendly forum advice. :)

Give your threads an appropriate title, and keep your issues separate. As much information as you can supply never hurts.

Why don't you set your concert video question as a new thread, then come back and delete it from this one? It's confusing and counter-productive to have questions on two separate issues running in two different threads, plus, it's against the forum rules. Hit the edit button at the bottom of the particular post you want to change, then hit the "Save Changes" button when you're done. Have questions, ask.

Verbatim media is compatible with a wide range of burners and standalones. If you intend to view your backups on a standalone, you need compatibility there, too, so here's an extra link.
Player/media compatibility (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers)
Burner/media compatibility (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters)

Free is a very good price, but in the case of your "free" media, it looks like it was worth....exactly what you paid for it. :) I doubt that lowering the burn speed with those discs will help, considering the results of your log, but it never hurts to check all your options.

well, problem is that you cannot recreate any information that was lost due to bad compression (low bitrate, bad settings, bad =cheap transfers) you could of course try filtering both audio and video (avisynth for video and cooledit pro for audio would come to my mind) but since this would require you to de- and reencode the content i highly doubt you will have any chance at a noticeable quality increase...
