OK, I *think* this is the right place. If not, sorry.
I'm using Gordian Knot (.35 I believe--latest version in any case) to backup some TV dvds (If it matters, Babylon 5) to avi files. It works ok--but on a recent go, I ripped the wrong audio track--to be exact, the same episode was on the dvd twice, once with commentary. I grabbed the commentary--I don't want it. I still have all the files Gordian made (Xvid, two pass...). Is it possible to rip the correct audio track, use BeSweet to make it mp3 as I want, and then mux (correct term?) it into the avi, to save several hours of encoding time? If so, how?

Mux audio and video together in VDubMod 1.5.10.1:
1. Open AVI video (w/o audio) file. Set video to "direct stream"
2. "Streams" -> "Stream list" -> "Add" -> (browse to needed audio file)
3. Place mouse over audio selection->right click->"Full processing mode"
4. Set audio compression: Mouse over audio selection->right click -> "Compression" -> Choose compression you want. (Go for 56 kbits 24000 56 kbits 20500).
5. "File" -> "Save as AVI..."
Video and audio will join together.

If all you have is a wav you can compress that using Besweet or Headac3he to mp3 and import mp3 into VDub. Save some file space.
If you're using an earlier version of VDub or Nandub there is no "Stream" menu but "Audio" menu. Basially do the same thing there.

1. Run Dvd Decrypter from GK. Rip the episode you need if you haven't done it already. Skip if done.
2. Find ac3 file with the audio track you need (most likely ac3 will be the audio format used on your DVD).
3. Convert it to mp3 using BeSweet.
4. Open your Xvid coded avi in VirtualDubMod. Go to Streams -> Stream list. If there is some sound already, disable it.
5. Add your newly created mp3 file.
6. File -> Save As... avi with a new name.
