Hey, I have a weirdass encode I'm doing (The last half of The Odyssey DVD).
Here's what happens, if I use force film in DGIndex, the first half of the movie is great, the bottom half alternates between 2 progressive frames and 2 interlaced frames, haven't come across this before. I also tried using IVTC instead of forced film, it basically does the same thing. If I run a deinterlacer AFTER doing IVTC, I get repeated frames, but if I run after force film, then it looks okay-ish. So far Kernel deinterlacing probably looks the best, but it's not that great.
My question is, what deinterlacer would you recommend for this? (Either Avisynth or Vdub plugin)
-Film content
-alternates every 2 frames between interlaced and progressive
Also, since the interlacing alternates in a definite pattern, is there a way to tell a deinterlacer to ignore the progressive frames?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
