Easy way to take out the prohibited user operations?

Oh mighty lord of dvds!
I just wanted to ask whats the easy way to take out the prohibited user operations? dvdshrink does it, but it processes the video in order to do that.


isnt there any other easy 1 or 2 click solution to that?
i got this dvd and i cant choose the part of the movie i want to see, or i cant select go to root menu, or title screen while the promos are running

there is bunch of tools that can do that.
dvd decrypter has this option Tools>Setings...>(look under the different ripping modes file,ifo and iso read) you will see it can remove PUOs in the ifo/bup and in the vob files. set it and forget it.

vobblanker and pgcedit and remove them as well.

i tried dvddecrypter 5 minutes ago and .. miracle!!!
the thing i dont understand is why those options dont come on default on dvd decrypter. they are amazing.

They are probably off by default because it's very possible to enable the user to do an illegal operation by removing PUOPs. For instance hitting next chapter during a menu with no next chapter (or a cell command that would have taken the user to a different chapter) or selecting the angle menu call, when no angle menu is defined.

Right, wmansir. A common problem is when you use the Resume button when in the menu domain, before a title domain has been visited. There is still no resume point, and the player may become confused.

Also, there are lots of cases where some PUOs are useful. In a game, for example.

I like to remove the VOB PUOs with DVDDecrypter, because it is difficult to modify them after the rip, but I leave the PUOs in the IFOs. Then, usually, I use PgcEdit's Filter Prohibited User Ops function to remove them from the title domain, but I leave them in the menu domains. Finally, if needed, I remove some PUOs in the menu domains on a per PGC basis (via the PGC Editor's PUO button).

I'm a PUO Killer - straight out. Except in multi-angled VOBs (where I have a heart).
