Hi,
I have lots of video files(wich are anime episodes) in OGM container with only 1 video track but 2 audio tracks (one english, one japanese). The video track is xvid format but the audio tracks are in ogg. I also have subtitles for the japanase audio version (not needed for the english one) in ssa format but I can easly convert it to srt if needed.

What I want to do:
I want to convert this files to dvd and I would like to keep the 2 audio tracks and the subtitles. For now, I don't have any intentions in creating interactive dvd menus. I just want the anime episodes to start playing right way and when it finishs the next one starts and so on. To select the audio track and to set the subtitles on and off, I'll use the remote control.

What suggestions do I need:
What I want from you guys is simple. I need to know the best and wich software to do that. As I'm not aware wich applications can achieve what. I don't want isntructions in what to do or tutorials I just need software suggestions, something like: Use X to do that and use Y to do this and bla bla, I'll figure it out later on how to use them, for now, I just need to know wich software to use for all the steps I need to perform.

Thanks.

1) avisynth (basis)
2) OGMDemuxer 1.0a1 (for demux)
3) TmpgEnc or CCE or HC or QuEnc (as Encoder)
4) DVDlab Pro (support srt subtitles)
5) BeSweet (for ogg to mp2/ac3)
6) Some guides and searches on this forum

thanks... I thought it was something like that after some research in google. and I also realized that that is a pain in the ass to do it. if it was just a few episodes, but it's not, it's lots of them, and I don't have time for it.

isn't there an app like dvdlab pro that could encode the video, convert the ogg to mp2 and convert the subtitles also? that would save lots of time.

by the way, I never understood what avisynth is for... I can imagine myself doind everything I want with the software you mentioned without using avisynth. what's it for?

and one last question that may solve this whole thing for me. In average, there's about 230mb (20 to 30mins each) for each episode (1 xvid stream and 2 ogg streams), that means I can put about 19episodes in 1 DVD5. Suppose I convert everything to dvd, i'm not sure how much episodes will I be able to put in 1 dvd but I don't think it's that much (19). If it's like 5 or 6, I don't want to convert it to dvd and I rather save the files into dvd. But if I can put lots more episodes on dvd, I think I can't reach 19, but say, like 10 at least (more would be cool) I think I would do it...

How much do you think can get into 1 dvd without loosing too much quality?

on dvd i suggest to store no more then 2/3 hours for dvd.
So, do your match

For an all in one progs... maybe TmpgEnc
Working on directshow basis you will be able to converto audio and video. I don't use tmpeg so i cannot help on this.

Depends on the source. For 24 fps progressive movie I would say about 3 hours, for 25 fps interlaced video about hour and a half.

right... I better forget this, I don't want to have a big dvd collection with all the episodes, I rather copy the files to the dvd and then I'll have the collection in 4 dvds at most.

Thanks for all your help.
