b-frames

I've noticed that when I do rips with max consec b-frames set to like 10, and the sensitivity set to about 50... I get corrupts frames all over in my final encode, it's horrible...

what sensitivity should I normally use, so that I won't run into this problem?

10 b-frames?!? even for AVC that is an impossible high value!
Stay with the defaults coz if you set b-frames to 10 i think you're not familiar with xvid settings.

Beyond 7 you get decoding lag. Better stick with max 3.

Even I never went above 8. ;) Xvid just doesn't work that good with too many B frames. For normal material just use 2. U can use 4 for some types of animation that have a lot of static scenes. When I'm encoding a flash animation (Sealab) I'll use 6. It's a beautiful thing seeing a string of 6 3 byte frames go by. Also make sure ur using VHQ for B frames, that dramatically improves the quality.
