View Full Version : NuMenu4u not copying all needed files?

Hi,
I'm trying to backup this DVD by using the big-3 guide. When it comes to demuxing, I find out that the VIDEO_TS folder has only one file, VTS_01_0.IFO.
How come? shouldn't it supposed to copy everything here after re-encoding the menus? Any clue? The configurations for all the involved apps are exactly as the big-3 guide suggests, so I can assure that

- on DIF4U, post processing -> do not copy menu files is CHECKED (as numenu4u is set to be executed)
- on NUMENU4U, copy remaining menu files is CHECKED (as automated by dif4u)
- in doitfast4u.log, Menu Files are being omitted by request is present and Finished copying unused VTSes is done in zero seconds
- in numenu4u.log only VTS_01_0.IFO is processed.

During numenu4u execution, at the end I receive this error message:

Procedure Name: Item
Module Name: PGC_Number

Error Number: 5
Error Description: Invalid procedure call or argument
Error Source: ErrorHandler
Error Line: 8
Call Stack:
Item --> PGC_Number
ByteHandle --> GlobalFunctions
ByteHandle --> GlobalFunctions
ByteHandle --> GlobalFunctions
ByteHandle --> GlobalFunctions
ByteHandle --> GlobalFunctions
ReplacePalette --> AssetProcess
CorrectIfos --> ExecuteProgram
EnableUpdateIFO --> ExecuteProgram
StartNuMenu4u --> ExecuteProgram
go_Click --> MainForm
Form_Activate --> MainForm

The VIDEO_TS folder on the original dvd looks quite familiar, apart from a single particular: VTS_02_0.VOB is 0 byte

Installed application versions:
- doitfast4u: v1.4.0.0
- numenu4u: v2.0.5
- scenaid: v1.0.0.0 (final)
- batchccews: v0.9.1.5 beta
- eclcce: v.2.67.0.27
- cce: CCE SP [SSG] v2.67.00.23
- sonic scenarist: v3.0

Any suggestion much appreciated, thanks at least for reading :)
If interested, I can attach the logs

I would say your files aren't there because numenu errored out and didn't finish.

you could do a try without numenu and see how that turns out. Don't know if the menus are very big?

@gemon
shoot me the original IFO and also the IFO generated by scenarist in your batch_1/0/video_ts folder. see debug screen for mail address

@zeul,
I've sent the files you requested to your email.

@influenza
if I've time in these two days I'll try to do it with both not using numenu or using old versions of numenu

Thanx and happy Easter to u all!!

@gemon
Thanks for the files - just what i needed. The problem arose because for whatever reason (either removed by you or diagnosed as dummies) no video files were written into any of the VMG PGCs , so NuMenu4u automatically creates an additional PGC with a dummy cell - this is to stop scenarist failing on mux. However when transferring the palette information the exact same number of PGCs were expected in both the original & the scenarist authored IFO file. A very slight adjustment was needed. :)

thanks for the quick reply and the demonstrated interested in solving the problem!

Unfortunately, due to my inexperience I might have not understood 100% what I should do to avoid this error :( ...should I manually edit the video_ts.ifo file? :confused:
What do you mean by 'a very slight adjustement' ? Numenu needs to be updated - so I must wait a new build - before I can correctly backup this dvd?

Thanks again, expecially because u are making me understanding more and more in the interesting world of dvd backup... :)

a new build will be required

"slight adjustment" to the code....

what you can do is in scenarist (in your case) delete PGC5 and add a dummy cell to PGC4. Then compile.
