Dr. DivX and AC3.

Hi there!
I was bucking up one DVD movie to avi, adding my own subtitles. In this case I use all the time Avisynth frameserving, loading the two plugins "DGDecode.dll" and "vsfilter.dll" everithing works fine.
Dr. DivX can keep the original AC3 only if I buck up directly from the VOBs files, is there a way (using Dr. DivX) to keep the AC3 using Avisynth frameserving as well?

No, you have to demux the AC3 from the vobs. If you use avisynth, Dr. DivX has no way of knowing what format the audio originally was since the audio has gone through its directshow filter chain and has been decoded.

So, use dgindex to demux the AC3 and write audio=false in the appropriate place in your avisynth script. :)

Ok, that's what I wanted to know. Anyway, the audio was already demuxed, I've made the frameserving using a d2v file (DGindex) and loading the external audio file to Dr. DivX... that actually can not keep.
I created an avi without audio and then I remuxed it to the AC3 with AVImuxGUI. It worked too.

Hmm... nice surprise!! I realized today that the backup I made from "I, Robot", remuxed with AVImuxGUI, does not play on my Philips DVP 630/00 :angry:
It's a little bit out of topic, but somebody have an idea why?

what settings are you using in AMG and how big is your resulting file?

I used the default settings and the final avi is 1910MB.

maybe you could try to set AMG to write a standard AVI (disable OpenDML)

Anyway, after a few tests I demux the avi file and remux it again with the settngs you told me, then I made two little examples on a pocket CD-RW one with "OpenGML" and the other one without... both worked fine! :confused: But the one I've already burned on a DVD (with OpenGML) doesn't work...
Whatever, I've made the new one and works fine.
