hello;
i have this question, how is it possible to edit menu files, to avoid having option that don't exist anymore;
after having tried to backup a dvd with angles I realized that it was not possible to backup having decent quality, so I went the hard way and I removed all the angles, and one audio stream now I would like to edit the menu in order that the angle menu doesn't appear and the language that I stripped too.. you see in languages option there's still the possibility to choose the language I removed.. I don't know if I explain myself properly.. I assume I would have to use photoshop in order to "mask" the text or is there any other possibility to make disappear the buttons?
thank you

You can try DVD Remake 0,it is able to remove links of the menus or menu edit is good too.You'll still have the text written on the menu but it won't be selectable, if it doesn't matter to you that's fine otherwise you'll have to reauthor your dvd completely and so use photoshop to clear the text.

another option would be to use numenu4u, and select 'import script only' in the scenarist options, and 'use original assets' in the default settings.

this will import your menu into scenarist. from there you can remove/edit buttons, and substitute menu backgrounds (.bmps and/or .mpvs) with custom ones (for example edit the background image in photoshop). it may well involve a lot of knowledge of how to use scenarist manually but will provide full control over your custom menu.

if you run into problems with whichever method you choose, post back and i am sure someone will be able to help you out.

good luck

The free solution is PgcEdit. A menu editor was recently added with the capability to change the menu button commands (to a NOP for instance). I'm not sure if you can delete it all together though (haven't looked). Aside from editing in bmp and then reencoding, you will never lose the text, as Noplait mentioned. You can prevent it from being selected all together using any method you like. Read about its capabilities in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=91521).
