View Full Version : Wrong cell playback time after remux with Ifoedit

Hi,

I have a still menu with a 30 second soundtrack. I need to modify the image as I'm going to remove a button but want to keep the audio. Unfortunately all I tried so far failed miserably...

Here's how I did it :

- use PgcDemux to get the ac3 audio
- took a snapshot of the image so I can modify it
- with BlankVob created a 30 second VOB
- used IFOedit to create IFOs for this VOB
- in DVDShrink used Still Image to replace the video with modified image and backup to new folder

If I open the result in DVDremake or Media player I see the cell has the expected runtime of 30 seconds but of course no audio yet.

- Vobedit to get the m2v file with my new image
- in Ifoedit used DVD Authoring to mux the m2v and ac3 together

Now if I load the result in DVDremake the cell plyback time is 0. In media player it shows up as 12 seconds ????
I tried to use this new block anyway to replace the original menu cell (with DVDremake). When I play this I get the sound but none of the buttons work and the cell commands act weird (it is supposed to automatically start the main movie after playing the soundtrack 3 times but now it does it earlier).

What am I doing wrong ? I most certainly did something stupid but can't figure it out.

Thanks.

Wouldn't it be easier to just replace m2v in the original cell with Vobedit? Don't forget a 'mock strip' if you are replacing original menu vob file with new one.

i would use Muxman to do the authoring(can create stills with audio) and did you mux in the subpics too?

i don't have DVDremake so i used pgcedit 0.5.1b1. i openned the original dvd and selected my VMGM,LU then pressed the menu button in the tool bar. a popup window will pop up and press edit button. another popup where you can edit your menu(delete or add buttons, what ever you want) now go to file and export whole menu and export color schemes (i think color is spelled wrong:))

now open the dvd that the cell was replaced(i used vobblanker to replace) with pgcedit and select the VMGM,LU then pressed the menu button in the tool bar and press edit button. note you might notice that there is no buttons for that VMGM,LU and pgcedit will ask you if you want to create new ones when you press the edit button. now just import everything you exported before. save dvd.
see if that works.

Hi sweetness,

Thanks a bunch for the tip, muxman and pgcedit did a terrific job and its much easier this way !
Now I need to change the position of the subpictures to match my modified button layout. Any tool you can recommend ?
