Converting VP5

I have a whole bunch of video clips that in encoded with VP5 that I wish to convert to DivX. After downloading the free VP6 decoder, Media Player Classic can play them fine but no other programs can open them. My question is how should I go about getting these to work in Vdub? I've tried AVISynth with no luck. Maybe I'm just going about it wrong.

VP5 never got VFW IIRC.

Well I've got audio working with Graphedit through AviSynth, but still no video...I'm using DirectShowSource:

DirectShowSource("256North_B-vp5.grf")

Well after a little playing in GraphEdit...i got it. I just opened up GraphEdit, selected Render Media File, then deleted the last audio & video filters to leave open pins (AviSynth Docs) then I added a generic "Color Space Converter" filter to allow it to work with AviSynth and all is well.

There's a vp5vfw.dll in mplayer codecs.I have used it with VirtualDub and it worked.It even decoded the video stream of some vp5 clips I had downloaded.

IIRC, only VP3, VP4, VP6 and VP7 got public.

I'd like to make some things more clear sirber.
I added it in registry with vidc.vp50 key.VirtualDub recognised it as VP50 Compressor but I couldn't encode with it.I got an error message telling me to contact with on2.But my vp5 clips could be decoded in directshow with AVI Decompressor and vp5vfw.dll

Yes Sirber you were right.:)
Their VP5 compressor never got VFW,but it's good that at least their decompressor did.
VP7 is so much better these days than VP5,no need for VP5 encoding.
I would also like to thank you for RealAnime 3.0.0 RC2.Wonderful tool.:)
