PSP Video 9 @ http://www.pspvideo9.com/

convert/copy/remove psp videos! more advanced and configurable than 3gp converter (another psp video maker).

it use the mod-version ffmpeg.exe from 3gp converter's core dir,
and can set each task's arg, like rez, bitrate, target qscale separarable.
and has same speed/quality of orginal 3gpConvter v0.31 when same args.

I'll stick with nero and use some tool to get it to work with the psplike the 3gp converter.

nero sample profile without avc, will produced ultralow bitcav near the end of movie, and always get better in sound.

368x208@29.97 with QT compliance checked,518k/64k HEAAC,after cheat with QTFlattend and atomchanger,it tested on PSP.

320x240@29.97 with QT compliance checked,518k/64k HEAAC,after cheat with QTFlattend and atomchanger, can't play on it.

so,I am tired for ask friends to test(I havnt a PSP) lots of diffrents clips compatible, with diffrent atom inserted,or use mp4creator's diffent compliance mode, etc

if watch anime on PSP,I think video is the more importance so I choice 3gpconvter(with ffmpeg's xvid without any bouds feather)

i have a question: does Nero Digital Recode 2 supports any other input video formats other than DVD's?

i see alot ppl using ND here, however i dont have too many dvd sources to use DN to encode.

Thanks for posting the link nessusing.

As azsd pointed out, PSP Video 9 (like 99% of the other PSP encoders out there) uses FFMPEG to encode video, so its not really proper to call it an encoder, its more of an advanced GUI. If you are looking for a simple way to encode video for PSP, you should give it a shot.

On another note, I have compiled a document outlining all the technical details of the video on the PSP I have found:
http://www.pspvideo9.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4

Some interesting notes from the document include:
AVC playback on Memory Sticks may be possible.
AVC movies are encoded into a proprietary container called the PSP Video Format (psmf). It is based on the MPEG-2 program stream and uses ATRAC3 as its audio codec.

So there is no way to playback AVC files from the memory stick right now? And is there a profile we can use or settings we can use for XviD to make them compliant?

Correct

And is there a profile we can use or settings we can use for XviD to make them compliant?

MPEG-4 Simple Profile (NOT ASP) @ QVGA and QCIF should work fine. Videos need to be using the MPEG-4 container(.MP4). If you want to use custom resolutions other than those two, you are going to need to use FFMPEG so it can forge the headers of the MPEG-4 files.
