View Full Version : Problem ripping audio

I gave an old home video tape to a friend who transferred it to DVD for me and the DVD works fine, both audio and video, but when I try to rip it there seems to be some problem with the audio. I have already encoded the video with DivX and now I only need to extract the audio and add it but I cannot do it.
The audio in the VOBs seems to be raw PCM 0xA0. I have 13 VOBs of about 240 MB (6 min) each, total about 70 minutes of video.
Each VOB opens with Power DVD correctly, including audio but DVD2AVI does not create a separate audio file as it usually does.
Besweet can extract the audio from the first VOB but not the others. I suspect the first VOB has some headers required for extracting the successive VOBs.
It seems there may be a problem with the IFO file?
How can I extract the full length audio from the VOB chain?

I used IFOEDIT to have a look but I do not know how to interpret the information. It seems to report two audio streams (PCM and MPEG)but I cannot get BESWEET to process any of them and POWERDVD only recognizes one.
In case it is of any use:

Have you tried PgcDemux or vStrip?

I have not tried those two specifically but I have tried several others, including Besweet, and all fail to extract the audio. I do not want to go installing programs just to try to solve this case.

DVD2AVI/DGIndex cannot currently demux LPCM; they can decode it to WAV, however.
